Here's how you can build a web page using an online website building program.
Page info
First of all I fill in the page information. Using one of the keywords I brainstormed in my research, I build a page around it. Let's build a page together - this page in fact!
I fill in my keyword as the name of the page.
Then I fill in the title - you can see that it appears on the top of your browser screen!
Plus the keyword, "build a web page" and description.
My website builder provides online help every step of the way so that the page is built properly for both visitors and the search engines such as Google or Yahoo!
Navigation
Then I fill in my navigation options. I don't want the page to appear in the navigation bar on the top left, but if I did, I could fill in that part and it would appear automatically on the left within my navbar - cool.
Headlines and text
Here's how I write my top headline. See - you don't have to know any HTML code to do this!
Let's build a text block now - this is where I can type in all the paragraphs I've written. You can also add your own simple HTML if you like, rather than using blocks to do it:
Add a picture
First of all I upload my picture to the graphics library:
Then I can access it through the site builder and add it to the page:
- and this is the first graphic on this page above - simple, eh?
Then I carry on building the page, block by block, until I'm done.
Right - time to preview, check, and build the page!
All my pages are added to my site's database
The clever thing about my website building program is that I can track the progress of my pages.
It's easy to find my pages again to edit them:
I can check how pages are doing at the search engines:
And I get traffic stats for each page that I build:
So - you build your pages, your traffic starts to grow - what's next?
