Building a websiteWant to start building a website? This page is just for those of you who are setting out on your website building journey. Maybe you've wondered how good sites are built - not just from a page building angle, but the whole kaboodle over time. The good thing is that building a website and growing it until it gets enough traffic to earn you money is a fairly logical process. Not always an easy process, as you'll be learning quite a lot of new stuff, and working on getting your pages written and so on. But if your goal is a successful site, then it's useful to have... a plan! So we're going to sum up the different stages right now: 1: Find your website nicheYour website has to be about something. And if this is your first site, it's much better to choose a subject you know something about, and that you're interested in. If you don't do this, you will probably give up. So why waste your time and money?2: Do some market researchIs anyone interested in your website topic? Not much point building a site in something nobody's interested in!But there are plenty of ways to spy out what people are searching for online. Think about how you will make money from your site and research how others do this. Building a website takes time. So build more pages, start getting involved in the web, getting links, giving links, writing about what's new in your niche, your thoughts, your ideas - and begin to turn your website into a living being!7: Make moneyWell - that makes it sound as if you're automatically going to start banking huge cheques doesn't it - but making a reasonable amount of money on the web isn't as easy as it sounds.But of course - you planned how you were going to do this in step 3 didn't you? Start implementing your monetization plan, and see what works and what doesn't. But that's not the end of the story... because... 8: Building a website is a never-ending process!Once your site is up and running, you'll have lots of interesting stuff to do!There are always a few more pages just waiting to be written... emails to answer... and of course, you have to keep tracking your progress with your income, getting rid of what doesn't work for your site, and finding things that are more financially worthwhile.
